on 2/28/2008 by Mario DiCino	The accomodations are austere but I was in the Navy and went through boot camp, so it doesn't take much for me to be satisfied for that. You call your own shots on what to do while there. I went with a group of men from my church who have organized trips before and were excellent in showing us newbees around. We had regular meal times which were family style and require participants to clean up the dishes and setup for next meal. The monks left us to our own otherwise. For Catholics there are at least 3 ordained priests amongst the monks who took confessions, and I will say that the confession I had was probably the most moving experience and is well beyond words to describe it. Every man on our retreat had his own silent reasons for attending. We were all told to go with an open mind and when I was asked why I was attending, my answer was simple. "I went for open heart surgery" And the doctor did not dissapoint!
