Hidden deep in a secluded mountain cove in the Pisgah National Forest, 35 minutes north of Asheville, Mountain Light Sanctuary is a mini Shangri-La nestled in the world of nature. Bordered by two cascading creeks and ringed by the highest mountains in the eastern USA, It's energy and ambiance are purely magical.
Our beautiful grounds include a stone circle, open fields, manicured flower beds, wooded areas. Guests find that Mountain Light is a great place for individual and group activities. Some folks are contented to spend the day with a good book or lying in a hammock and watch the clouds drift by. For the more adventurous a dip in the icy creek is just want they need. Hiking the endless miles of trails into the national forest is always an adventure of discovery and sitting around a camp fire is the perfect way to end the day.
We offer a variety of accommodations to fit every taste & budget:
* Elfhaven Lodge - six bedrooms, porches * Hermitage - a small two story cabin with a nice porch overlooking our cascading mountain creek) * Shelters - open air, with and without electricity for those who deeply yearn to connect to nature.

| Raven Ivanov | 4/12/2009 | | I cannot say enough good things about Mtn Light and Michael, the owner. From the minute you step inside the gate to the grounds you feel the positive energy cover you like a blanket. The various sleeping places all have their own unique charm and of the couple I have slept in I slept well. Of course how can you not here?
If you quiet yourself enough and do not try to look at them straight on you may find yourself gifted with a visit from one of the little people.
I go here when I need to recharge my batteries or find my focus. It never fails. Conversations with Michael always leaves me feeling gifted with a new insight.
The only caveat I could think of is make sure you try to arrive during daylight hours especially if this is your first visit! It is up in the mountains and there are not street lights.
There is not room to list all the wonderful things about a visit at MLS. Go and see for yourself! |
