Wood Valley Temple and Retreat is located in Ka'u on the slopes of Mauna Loa on the Island of Hawaii.  It is a non-sectarian Buddhist retreat center open to groups and individuals.  It was founded by Nechung Rinpoche in 1973 and dedicated by HH the Dalai Lama in 1980.

The main building is a classic 100 year old Buddhist Temple. The Retreat Center is a plantation style Buddhist Temple adjacent to the main temple.  Surrounded by spacious gardens and forest in one of the most beautiful and isolated corners of the world.

A rustic mountain lodge style structure, there are three dormitories, four double rooms and three singles. All rooms have bedding and towels. This facility is ideal for individuals and small groups alike.
