The Vallecitos Mountain Refuge is located in the Rocky Mountains west of Taos, New Mexico. We are a non-denominational retreat center open to groups and individuals.
The natural beauty and tranquility of our 135-acre wilderness ranch is a perfect setting for any gathering. Eleven miles from road, surrounded by thousands of acres of ancient forest - including the oldest Ponderosa pine in the Carson National Forest - the ranch is a magical wildlife refuge and mountain sanctuary: majestic old growth timber, lush alpine meadows, abundant wildlife, mountain lakes and the Vallecitos river running through it.
The beautiful and historic log cabin Lodge features a grand meditation hall, library and spacious conference rooms for meetings and gatherings. The dining room overlooks the Rio Vallecitos and stunning mountains and meadowlands. The library, front porch and a spacious 30-foot yurt can also be used for meeting or practice space. For those who like to hike, Vallecitos is nestled within the Carson National Forest and surrounded on all sides by pristine wilderness.
Rustic, comfortable accommodations are available for up to 30 people in our individual casitas, yurts and cabin tents. Additional guests may camp in our camping meadow. Gourmet, vegetarian meals are served in the dining room.
