We used this retreat center to host a 40th birthday party for a family member.Â Â We bid on this center at charity function and paid only $100 for a whole weekend plus a $200 refundable damage deposit.Â Â The facility was clean as was the bunkhouse.Â Â I can not speak to the scrapbook area of the center as we did not use that area.Â Â We found that the kitchen area was very small and not adequate for cooking for a large group.Â Â We did the majority of our cooking off site.Â Â Also, the air conditioning in the main facility did not work very well at all.Â Â The Temp. remained in the 80's in the center despite having the air cranked all the way down.Â Â My guests were very hot during the party. The air conditioning in the bunk house worked well and we slept comfortably.Â Â There is no maid service and you are responsible for all clean up prior to check out which includes sweeping/mopping the floors, cleaning the toilets, making the beds and so on.Â Â I'm not sure I would have been pleased about that had I paid full price.Â Â We did all have a good time at the retreat center given what we paid.Â Â However, I would STRONGLY caution anyone renting this facility to do a walk through with the owner at check in and check out.Â Â We lost our $200 damage deposit due to purported damages that I can neither confirm nor disprove as no walk through was done when we arrived or when we checked out...lesson learned for me.
