A beautiful seaside spiritual retreat - we combine the experience of community living with the arts, nature, relaxation & contemplation.
The Othona people got right to work, cleaning and painting, clearing the bushes, and bringing the old house back to life.
The important thing was that Othona now had a facility that could run and welcome guests all year long. Since then, they continue to do it. Of course, the facility's operations and the programs it provides have changed. However, the feeling of a warm neighborhood that offers a simpler way of life than the rest of the world is still present.
The older portion of Community House, a warm stone structure with an open fireplace, dates from the 1920s. There is nothing 'posh' about it; rather than feeling like a hotel, it has the atmosphere of a big family home. There are 14 rooms total, including single, twin, double, and family rooms.
Their chapel is a wonderfully lit area that is adaptable in use and serene overall. It serves a variety of functions, such as concerts, seminars, dance performances, and art exhibitions
