Marianne Harms, CSW/Couple Coach, guides each couple, using Imago Couple Therapy, 19 years of experience and a lifetime of learning both formal and personal. Couples spend their weekend (week days as well) in a private cottage just 2 miles from the famous Sonoma Plaza.
Over the course of the weekend they have an opportunity to explore new beginnings in an environment of complete relaxation and safety. The focus is on learning new skills and gaining new tools to deal with the current issues and the events that have led up to them. During these 12 hours together, Marianne helps couples with solution oriented communication. She helps them to see the world through their partner's lenses and then there is a moment, an aha moment, when they come to a place of compassion and understanding and learn to cooperate with one another's healing ....deep healing. It is from this place of compassion that connection is restored, not as it had been in the beginning of their relationship, but a stronger and more abiding connection.
Over these short three days relationships are not suddenly "all better.'" But couples leave with new skills, a new understanding of the dynamics of all relationships and a deep compassion for their partner's personal struggle. They leave with agreements rather than expectations, with wisdom and with a mutual vision of the many areas of their lives. They leave with the knowledge that there is still a lot of work ahead but mostly they have hope.

With this in mind, the goal of the Sonoma Couple Retreat is to guide couples to conscious relating and to create safety so that they can listen fully and be fully heard. With new communication skills couples develop new understandings and wake up to the potential for abiding love and friendship that is hidden within their relationship.

Cost of the workshop includes two nights lodging in our beautiful cottage enjoyed exclusively, breakfast, lunch and pre-dinner hors d'ouvres.
What is most important, however, is12 hours of Imago Couple Coaching by Marianne. Couples arrive at 3p. After settling in the first session is at 4p through to 6p.. The next morning sessions begin at 9am through noon, a break for lunch, and resuming at 1pm through to 6p. The last day's session is from 9a to 11a. Workbooks incl.

Housing: The cottage offers a beautifully appointed bedroom with a queen sized bed. The bathroom has an oversized shower and the kitchen provides our guests with the ability to make coffee, tea and snacks. A refrigerator is stocked with breakfast needs.
The private patio faces a lush garden and fountain that attracts many birds. It is directly connected to the living area where you can read and relax.
Located in a country neighborhood you may hear a rooster or a dog or see the occasional bunny.
