on 8/31/2011 by Peter Watkins	This is a beautiful, "thin" place--one of the best kept secrets in Minnesota. It is a labor of love by the staff and volunteers. It was started by three Catholic sisters of St. Joseph twenty years ago with the mission of being open to all people. Delicious meals are provided. I loved my three times there, especially during the winter. These were powerful, transformative experiences for me. Definitely buggy in the summer--it is after all in the woods. If you are looking for a quiet, contemplative retreat check this out.
