The Mandala Center is a peaceful and intimate retreat facility in Northeastern New Mexico. We specialize in providing rental space for groups & offer a yearly schedule of workshops with professional leaders in their fields on topics of spirituality/religion, health/wellness, creativity/art, ecology/nature, personal growth and professional development. Our remote and quiet setting offers the perfect place for study, rest, reflection, and renewal.
Examples of groups that rent from us: artists, churches, businesses, educational organizations, yoga/health professionals, small family gatherings, silent meditation/ Buddhist groups, therapists, and more.
The Mandala Center provides accommodations for up to 24 people in double occupancy with private baths in each room in our Wolf Lodge/shared/split baths in the Deer Lodge. There is a small kitchenette, sitting areas, a library, and an outdoor labyrinth to walk. We offer wonderful and delicious meals with our chef services and we provide linens and towels.
We are also surrounded by amazing landscapes, a huge night sky filled with stars, and are located near Capulin Volcano National Park.
The Mandala Center will assist you to ensure that you have a successful retreat experience (and we can help create an agenda for your group if you are just seeking to come and relax.)

Mission/Lineage: The Mandala Center is a non-profit retreat facility situated on the Sierra Grande Mountain in the high-desert volcanic plains of Northeastern New Mexico. We serve groups through rentals and workshops in the areas of spirituality, health, creativity, and personal/professional growth. The Mandala Center is a peaceful place to refresh the mind, renew the spirit, and heal the body.

Special Features: The Mandala Center is a special space and an inspiring retreat. It sits in a very unique area - The Sierra Grande Volcano. The Center accommodates small groups to fulfill its mission to offer quality services, peaceful grounds and personalized attention and hospitality to deepen and enrich your retreat experience. We offer a yearly workshop schedule with amazing presenters on a variety of topics for individuals to attend, including two individual retreat weekends at reduced rates.
Technology and AV: The Mandala Center does not have TV/cable. Our goal is to provide you with the time and space to rest and reconnect with your deepest self. We seek to limit distractions. We DO have a TV & DVD player for group/workshop facilitators who may need it for teaching purposes. We also have an overhead projector. We DO have a wireless internet connection in the Main building for your use, which is available 24/7. The guest lodges do not have wireless service. Most cell phones do work here.

Housing: 12 rooms with twin beds = 24 guests in shared lodging. The Retreat center and bedrooms are very comfortable and decorative including oriental rugs, art from around the world and all linens and towels are provided. Delicious meals, large windows, stunning views, open decks, and comfy couches all add to the luxury of this remote retreat.

Travel Info: The Mandala Center is located in the stunningly beautiful and unique volcanic plains of Northeastern New Mexico centrally located between major cities such as Santa Fe NM, Amarillo TX, and Colorado Springs Colorado. We are 35 miles east of Raton NM, on highway 87/64 at mile marker 383. Most of our visitors arrive at Colorado Springs and take a sceneic drive through the mountain pass into Raton.
We are situated on the slopes of the Sierra Grande Mountain with sweeping and expansive views of the desert plains and the volcanic mountains that abound here. The rural area and quiet environment lends itself to times of transformation, rest and contemplation.
There are many nature areas to explore including the Capulin Volcano National Monument where you can hike down into the volcano itself, and Sugarite Canyon complete with beautiful mountain lakes and abounding wildlife.
