This workshop is designed for directors of parish liturgical music and singers in parish liturgies. Spend a week immersed in the beauty of the liturgical chant. Learn how chant is "sung speech," and prepare to incorporate English and Latin chant into your parish liturgies. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in the liturgies of Saint Meinrad's Benedictine monastic community, as well as to form and sing in a chant schola.

Mission/Lineage: Saint Meinrad Archabbey was founded in 1854 by monks from Einsiedeln Abbey in Switzerland. The monks’ daily lives are guided by the wisdom of the Rule of St. Benedict, sixth-century instructions for community living. The Rule was written as a guide to living life in community. It was not the first "rule" for Christian followers, but its common-sense, Scripture-based approach have stood the test of time. The monks of Saint Meinrad welcome all who wish to experience life on The Hill.
