Sky Lake provides a cozy setting for the weekend and weeklong events like Buddhist lessons, contemplative arts, family programs, visits by senior teachers of the Kagyu, Nyingma, and Shambhala Buddhist lineages, as well as Eva Wong's qigong.

Nestled in a forest of cedar and white pine on the northern crest of the Shawangunk Mountains, Sky Lake is a contemplative center for meditation, arts and community. Just two hours north of Manhattan in the Mid-Hudson River Valley, you can enjoy extraordinary hiking trails in the Mohonk Preserve, scale the Gunks or take a stroll around our spring-fed pond. The unique geology of this ancient mountain ridge makes the Shawangunks a hiking paradise and one of the most sought after rock climbing challenges in the U.S. The Lodge is secluded on 18 acres of white pine, cedar, maple and oak and our spring-fed pond is stocked with koi and boasts two snapping turtles. Sky Lake is a cedar lodge with eight guest rooms which can comfortably accommodate 15-20 people. Each room has a private bath and access to a large deck. The Lodge was recently rennovated using locally milled pine and cedar which fell on the property. No trees were cut to create our space. The environment has been considered in every way, from the design of the building to the linens in bedrooms and baths. Sky Lake Lodge is not "wired". It has a contemplative, peaceful ambience and is a haven from the rigors of urban life. It is beautiful and magical here. We offer many ongoing programs and workshops in meditation and Buddhism, Shambhala Training and classes in the contemplative arts.
